Synopsis

Kelly Cannon is satisfied with his life. He has friends, a wonderful family, and a great job. But his love life has reached a new level of pitiful. Why? Well, his heart decided to break all the rules. Don’t fall in love with a straight guy. And definitely don’t fall in love with your best friend.

NFL standout Britton “Blue” Montgomery has pressure coming at him from all sides. From his father, who’s only interested in Blue’s football career. From his coaches, who just want him to play without getting injured again. From the fans. From his agent. And from his mother, who has popped up on the radar after leaving his family years before. And now his relationship with Kelly is on shaky ground, and that frightens Blue more than anything.

When Kelly admits he’s in love with Blue, bonds are tested, and Blue has to decide what’s really important. He doesn’t want to lose the number-one person in his life, but the cost to keep Kelly close might be more than he’s willing to pay.

It’s a good thing his nickname is the Blueprint—it’s time to draft a new set of plans.

Review

I just love a friends to lovers story! It can be a very slow burn or a faster one. It doesn’t matter I just devour all the tension in it!
Kelly is a teacher, living in a good environment, has wonderful parents, supportive and funny.
Blue is Kelly's best friend, an NFL player, with a lot of stress coming from the outside, Always surrounded by hot women and he enjoys them.
Kelly- for Blue- is one of the most important factors in his life. He knows he is gay and when he asks Kelly about his sex life and finally gets an answer... something down below stirs up. Visualizing Kelly with men now is somewhat hard. Friends since they were kids, always together....but now when he looks at Kelly, it’s different.

Kelly’s can’t deny his feelings for Blue anymore, so he tells Blue he's in love with him and Blue thinks it's okay to have sex added into their friendship... not quite Kelly's idea.
To save this friendship there has to be some clarity. Blue doesn't want to lose Kelly as his best friend and he has to make choices and he doesn't know if he can... or wants to.

This is my first read from this author and I love the way this story is written. It could’ve been just another ‘NFL best friends’ story but this was not the case here. It was a sweet and considerate tale. I love those stories! It was a bubble, mostly about Kelly and Blue, a little side-story, but mainly about how they may or may not progress in their friendship. The sexual encounters were just as intense as their friendship. The atmosphere was all the way sweet, even when everything seemed to fall apart. It was all convincing. I didn’t even like Blue all the time and that's good! The way he opened up toward his future was refined. Overall a great written engaging read.
